Ghazal Maestro - Jagjit Singh

First thing that comes to your mind when you think about Ghazals ? Yes I know the answer - Jagjit Singh it is. Sudden demise of him has shocked entire fraternity of Ghazal likers and so does me.

Hearing the news on one of the TV channels that he had Brain Hemorrhage I began to think about him and remembered some of his ear soothing songs and downloaded " Koi Fariyaad " from " Tum Bin " , then few days later I heard his health is stable and he is improving , little did we knew that he will lose the battle with life and we will just be left with his voice that is now stored in many many magnetic tapes.

Many fear that with him the tradition of Ghazals which is ever decreasing at a very steep rate may soon be over with other top Ghazal Singers like Ghulam Ali fearing the same. Also apart from music in Movies we Indians have more so not given any encouragement to IndiPop music and Ghazals .

I don't know how to pay tribute to the Ghazal Maestro what I have done is collected some tweets on my timeline which were posted as the Singer left this world. My apologies I could not collect all the tweets from the timeline but still got some.

This is what my Indian Friend with whom I interact on Twitter had to say about him ----

@manishrajora

@AddyBrainwave

Here are reactions from two of my Nepali twitter mates

Here are reactions from some of the tweeples from across the Border in Pakistan

Some tweets from known personalities across India

No wonder he is not present but his voice still sings in our hearts , Thank You Jagjit Singh for giving us such wonderful songs.

A Day out in Connaught Place

While the last post of mine was dedicated to some Historical Place today I am here narrating you about my day off with my family yesterday at one of my fav place in Delhi, Connaught Place or Rajiv Chowk now is one place in Delhi that I visit very often,  as I travel to my work I change my DelhiMetro here from Yellow line to Blue line in morning and vice-versa in evening. Most of the times on Friday evenings I with @i4mit while returning from Office venture out there, we watch crowd, eat something, do some shopping and return.

Yesterday I had taken an off from my Office as my Sis and Brother in law were there in town and they wanted to do some shopping from CP and from neighbouring Janpath Market, so me with my Mom and didi Jijaji left home at 2 pm, first visited Teen Murti Bhawan - residence of late PM Jawahar Lal Nehru - about that visit I would have to write a separate post so let me return to Connaught Place.

After having little difficulty to park our Car in the inner circle parking we hit out at Shopping[ I am not a shopaholic was just accompanying my dear ones I just like to observe things]. CP was recently renovated on the brink of Commonwealth Games so it looked a little better than it was back few years back.

My Sis lives in Gujarat and her first stop was at this Gujarati stall, although they didn't purchased anything from here but wasted quite a bit of time.

The next stop was a Book stall having latest Books covering each genre, I am always fascinated by Books[not academic] so this place was of my liking but I didn't pick any of them although Sis took 3 Chetan Bhagat kinda Novels, don't remember their names but on all three Best Seller was written[ I doubt that they actually were].

And there was recently launched Shoaib Akhtar's autobiography too, you can figure it out.

As Jijaji Paid for the Books in return for the Chillar see what he got, that's rare when you get three of those.

Then there was this Posterwala stall but they were very expensive just took one pic of it.

Now we moved towards SreeLeather Shop an Iconic shop for Cheap and durable Leather products primarily for Shoes, this shop happens to be in the Regal Cinema Compound.

Except me everyone got Shoes and Sandals for themselves while I captured some pics for you.

As we moved out had some tasty Bhelpuri.

As we were crossing road captured this lovely view of kabutar's[Pigeon's] having feast on dana's

LIC building at CP has always amazed me with its beautiful architecture , the red stone , the trusses that connects main building to the outer Pillar its just a super architecture.

Then there was this Pen shop with varieties of Pens just besides Pind Baloochi Restaurant .

Now we moved towards Janpath market, I don't have a liking for it but Ladies I guess like it as lots of new stuff for them is available there, I just passed my time and clicked some pics.

Remember Ravish ki report on NDTV ? So have a look at this pic that is from Ravish ki report and the one that I clicked

Just got to see this Colorful shop in Janpath market with lamps and stuff.

As we moved in Janpath market saw a Shakergandh[Sweet Potato]  thela could not resist to munch on it with a tangy Kamrak[kinda tangy fruit]

In the mean time ladies has finished with their shopping so we decided to to move out and return also we were tired a bit now.
We came back to our Car and returned home, to all those who didn't have much idea about Connaught Place can just Google it or can follow this link. I now take an exit from here and leave you with some other pics that i clicked.

Oh I am back forgot to mention one thing, there was one street shop where every wrist watch was of hundred Rupees only that's just two US dollars isn't it very cheap and all of the watch their were of latest trend.

That's all , hope you liked the post : )

Rajiv Gandhi - Some Unseen Pics

It was August 14 yes Independence day of our neighbouring country when in afternoon we decided to venture out in Delhi . I have always been fascinated by the time that has gone by or when I was  not born so the place should be which could fulfill my this desire. We decided to visit Teen Murti Bhawan and Indira Smriti where Pioneers of our Political History spent their life.

Although we visited both of the places today here I will post some of the pics that I clicked at Indira Smriti particularly of the compound where Rajiv Gandhi lived. As I am a no experience Photographer you may not like their quality but what they portray you may like. When you enter the Indira Smriti you'll be first get frisked by Delhi Police Constables who on the contrary happened to be very nice.

The place is very quiet from the outside and well maintained, its not a huge one taking into consideration that two of the iconic political leader of our country lived here. The first part that you get to see is all devoted to Indira Gandhi. It contains not so big rooms which are very highly illuminated with clear white lights, what you get to see are pictures and pictures of Indira Gandhi from her Childhood till the time of her death.

Let me now come to Rajiv Gandhi's compound which starts as you finish Indira's compound , I don't find anything different but it was very heartening to see pics of Rajiv with his little Brother(Sanjay) and Grand Father(Jawahar lal Nehru) , never seen pics of him.

I still remember when one morning in 1991 I was still in my sleep at my Birthplace Deoband(U.P) when suddenly my Grand Mother came crying that Rajiv Gandhi was  no more, it was a shock to the whole country as a young Prime Minister who was loved by everyone was no more and now I was at the same place where he spent his most of the time.

Its time I let the pictures do talking and shut up.

pyre of Rajiv Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi could be seen in the background

So how did you liked them ? If you are in
and around Delhi a visit at this place will be
a nice experience. The best way to reach
Indira Smriti is to take the Delhi Metro
Yellow line and get down at Race Course
station from where you can walk down to it.

While Someone Fasts What you Can do from your side

Whole Country is supporting Anna today as he fasts to eradicate Corruption from our Country, While I don't question him and his teams intentions but neither do support the the way they have taken out.

Corruption is not a thing that started recently its from ages in our society and now very deeply rooted in it hence it will not vanish by a click or something. I don't think there is a person reading this post who have not been part of this menace directly or indirectly. So to remove it from our society every single of us have to contribute individually.

What we are lacking is a disciplined life we don't follow much rules rather I hear things like rules are meant to be broken which makes me unhappy. What we can do is to make some changes in our lifestyle start doing things that we have stopped doing.

Today I will point out some of the things that I have started doing in my life , they are very simple to follow and If we could instill those in our routine it will surely make some positive change in our society and while following them we should make them known to our near and dear ones and encourage them to start doing themselves.

Whenever you eat something that have any wrapper or cover or something that is left after consuming it please put the waste thing in the dustbin nearby or if its not present simply put it in your pocket or in your bag if you have it. Its just not eatables but everything that is left with some waste material. Like don't be shy in putting Ice Cream wrapper in your pocket after consuming it rather you are doing some generous cause.

When moving on your Vehicle outside never cross a Red light even if the road is deserted and the Vehicle on your back is honking on you. That Red light means to stop so you must stop at it. People will say nice things to you while you stand on empty road but continue to wait as it turns green eventually they will feel ashamed and might start following you.

While waiting for a Bus a train or any transport mode first let all the passengers come out of it and then only proceed to enter it and that too in first come first basis if someone who is standing after you is going first gently remind him and if he throws some nice words on you just smile towards him mutely making eye contact with him. Amongst other people at that time even if one person learns it you have only gained something.

Never pay a single penny to a Beggar. Every single money that you earn should not be used to help somebody who is not doing any work. Remember how poor or physically restricted you are you could still earn a living by hard work. Feeding a beggar would only make him learn that money could be earned without hardwork, its a fact that there are more beggars in our country than any other they only bring shame to our country.

When using water in your day to day life never waste it, close the tap after taking water same goes for electricity too, remember today we are having ample quantity of water but it would not be same ten year hence. In our country electricity is made mainly using Coal which is a fossil fuel and it takes millions of years to make it but seconds to turn it into ashes. Also when travelling near by give rest to your vehicle and use your legs when going to not so near places try to use public transport.

Never feel ashamed to apologize if you have done something wrong,  what it will do is that you will be saved from coming onslaught and your image will improve in others eyes and you will become a better human being.

Lastly stop paying bribes for any of your work I know I have also payed it many times but what has happened has happened start a new day and stop paying bribes. Educate your children to follow rules and correct them everytime.

I just thought to write a post about these points, remember all things that I have said are very easy to follow, they may not change the world also may not change anybody but still persist with them you will feel sense of satisfaction. For you nation should always be the top priority, don't blame the govt. everytime for everything just start doing a bit for your nation.

These are the points that I am following now many I have forgotten too please feel free to comment how you are doing a bit for your society it would only help : )
