Best Friends !

After preparing full one year for Engineering Entrance Exams, i gave all the exams that i had been enrolled to and was already knowing the result as i had not performed well in them. Full one year was wasted and the Money that was invested too, first came the IIT result i didn't even checked it(but i got the confirmation few days after i received a letter showing my poor performance in it), when i was giving IIT exam some twenty minutes were left , examiner came up to me she was seeing my OMR sheet the holes in Maths section were not filled yet, she said you haven't filled them yet please fill them fast, now who should tell her that i am unable to solve them thats why not filled those holes, but in desperation all blank holes were filled by me on same option and yes i got 12 marks in my IIT exam and you should get around 100 to crack IIT.

After AIEEE result my father first time in my life condemned me saying " You are a below average student " I could not argue on that as i had ruined all of their dreams that they had nurtured for me. Now in state Entrance exam i also fared bad getting 17,838 rank in Uttar Pradesh. Anyhow i was able to get a Mediocre college in my town.

Now my College story started, First day of the college i was quite nervous went by city bus and coincidentally met a Guy in my Bus who also joined my college with same branch as of mine. Went to college there were lot of new comers, on first day we were shown college premises and day was over.

I must tell you how i first saw my Best Friend, I was going to my college one day and City Bus stopped at one stop there i saw a guy in my college dress he was drinking water from the Hand Pump and hurriedly came on to latch the Bus, he was a thin, tall guy with glasses on. Then i saw him in my class also. As we were following the same route we got acquainted to each other. His name was Manish Rajora. I think you make friends who have common interests like you. We both have interests in Politics, current affairs, general knowledge, taste and so we became very good friends during the course of the time. There are lots of instances amongst us and here i will narrate some of them.

As most of our class mates used to come college by their personal vehicles we both came by buses, autos and by our foot. He used to come from Modinagar and i from Modipuram then we used to meet at a common point from there we took City Buses which are like hell you have to struggle for getting even a foot hold and we did all this for 4 years, after City bus we used to walk for a kilometer or so and the same process again in evening for return journey, but we enjoyed every moment of it. I guess we were the only two in our college who has done so hardship.

One day we went for a movie actually our whole class bunked for the movie. Everybody has taken their tickets in group. As we didn't have much money we took the cheapest ticket. As we were on the look out for our seats we got the front row seats. Now for whole movie we were trying to conceal us from our friends who were enjoying elevated show at their seats and we were struggling with our neck as scenes in movie were moving from extreme right to left and so does our neck. Any how we finished the movie and it was planned that we will never watch again movie from front row but history repeated itself once again at a different theater.

Who says that ragging happens in first year ? We were the guys who gave it every year. In first year they ragged us thats ok, but in second year its our turn to pay back, one fine evening we were returning to our home some guys called us and they started ragging us one by one, they abused us and made our fun and we have been ragged again we were so dumb. But it doesn't stop there only we were again ragged in third year.

Yes we were best friends but we have difference of opinions also. Like once when we were returning from our college and we were having discussion on whether Capital punishment must be given or not. I being little liberal is always against it but he who happens to be a Jat also was in favour of it. On that day we had heated discussion and no body was cowing down. We didn't talked to each other on that day.But i respect his decision and also mine and its perfectly all right to have ones own faith on any particular thing. I know he is reading it, you must remember Manish when we went to BSNL Office for training purpose on Delhi road  at that time also we had argued. But our fighting always remained upto words only and on the next day it used to be over.

As he mentioned in the comment section in earlier post when we went to Delhi for ISRO paper we enjoyed a lot what a time it was for us !  i guess we don't went there for giving paper we went to roam in Delhi exam was secondary thing.Once we went to trade fare also and roamed all day long, i miss those moments now, Yes it were our best days.

Two years had gone by after passing out our college, one year we were both unemployed and in April 2009 we got selected for same Company and now are working in same Company, but time has lot changed, i miss all those moments that we shared with each other. Now here i don't have many friends and i am not enjoying my job also. But then this is life and you have to move on with it.

Today its Friendship day i thought why not to write about my best friend ever. You may argue that i don't call you much but you are and will be my Best friend !
I dedicate this post to you !

  4. "...but he who happens to be a Jat also was in favour of it."

    >>> LOL. Are all Jats kind of strict and conservative? No offence (and I know these kind of things can't be generalized) but I am curious as I have been given some examples to that effect on other occasions also.

  5. Ya most of them are strict and orthodox, theres a saying Jaats are said to be of "Ulti Khopdi" and actually its most of the time right also, they go by their Heart rather then by their mind.
Most of the Jaats are in Northern India, here where i live in Western U.P we have abundance of them and you get to know why they are termed Ulti Khopdi.
But Jaats i guess are very good at heart and if you go to their home they will do lots of " Aav Bhagat " to you.
But this Jaat whom i am talking about happens to be an exception amongst Jaats, he is totally different.
And it was an honour to have you here Deepak, so happy to get comment from a top notch Journalist that we have around.
How about a post in The Kathmandu Post about Jaats ?
do you have Jaats in Nepal ?

    ReplyDelete
  12. yaar yeh pop ups koi third party widget kar raha hai......i mean the one's which aren't from google......aur mujhe sabse suspicious yeh Inline text ads wala widget lag raha hai............mera experience....hai...readers don't like pop ups.......so my suggestion would be loose these inline ads.....aur agar jiss site se yeh mill rahe hai ....waha se acchi kamai nahi hai....toh leave it......
